The long-awaited opening of a new Stevie’s Famous location in North Seattle is set for 11 a.m. on Aug. 2 — the largest space the local chain has opened so far. The standalone building at the corner of Phinney Avenue North and North 60th Street will seat 45 guests, and includes its own parking lot and patio, significantly expanding the pizzeria’s reach beyond its first locations in Burien and Beacon Hill. The menu will offer four to six daily slices, including the classic Coppа and the famed Normie MacDonald — a variation made with burrata and spicy honey, inspired by pizzas from legendary New York shop L’Industrie Pizzeria.
The spot has already achieved cult status in Seattle, so much so that the phrase “to do a Normie” has become a local verb meaning to ask for burrata and honey on your pizza. Since opening the first location in Burien in November 2022, Stevie’s has rapidly gained popularity: in 2024, its New York–style pizza was named the best in the city both by readers and in a critics’ survey conducted by The Seattle Times. The new Phinney Ridge outpost, the owners predict, will be the busiest—especially for takeout orders—thanks to its location in a dense residential neighborhood.
Co-owner Shane Abbott has already confirmed that the team will begin scouting for the next site right after this opening. Plans include possible expansion to Capitol Hill, in Edmonds, or on the Eastside next year. “In the long run, we’ll open two more spots in Seattle,” Abbott said, adding that the final decisions on locations have not yet been made, but the chain is clearly aiming for rapid growth and to cement its status as one of the region’s top pizza restaurants.
