Seattle Animal Shelter has announced the “Picture Pawfect” contest, inviting residents to submit photos of their most adorable pets. To enter, owners must upload a photo to a special website and pay a $5 entry fee. Anyone can also support their favorite contestant: one vote costs $1, and entrants automatically receive five votes.
The two pets with the most votes by Sept. 30 will be featured on the shelter’s brightly decorated vehicle for one year. The vehicle takes part in city events, educational outreach campaigns and monthly free veterinary clinics. All proceeds from the contest will support the shelter’s work, including adoption, foster care and volunteer programs; investigating more than 6,500 animal-welfare violations each year; enforcing pet-ownership and leash regulations; and providing free and low-cost medical care.
