If Sunday felt a bit hot, get ready for another warm week: Monday in Seattle will be clear again and reach up to 27°C (80°F), promises National Weather Service meteorologist Dustin Guy. The sky will be cloudless, so feel free to head to the park with a blanket and a book. However, fortunately, the heat will begin to ease gradually.
On Tuesday, the wind will shift from the land to the ocean, bringing cool marine air, and temperatures will fall to 24°C (mid-70s Fahrenheit). On Wednesday and Thursday the air will warm only to 21°C (around 70°F), and by Friday a weak weather system from the north will lower temperatures to 18°C (mid-60s). Cloudiness is expected on the mornings of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, which will clear by midday.
Although even Friday’s 18°C is still a bit above normal (usually around 16°C this time of year), there’s a worrying detail: precipitation has been below normal, which is “bad news” for water supplies since the dry weather is expected to persist. Still, don’t relax just yet — by the weekend a ridge of high pressure could lift temperatures back to 24°C (mid-70s).
