The week in Seattle will begin with rain and gusty winds: the city could receive about 13 millimeters of precipitation Tuesday, while wind gusts reach 40–56 km/h. According to National Weather Service meteorologist Matthew Cullen, the strongest winds are expected before the afternoon, then will gradually weaken. A high-wind warning is in effect for the San Juan Islands and western Whatcom County. Up to 76 millimeters of rain will fall along the coast and in the mountains, while gusts north of Seattle, around Everett, could reach 48–56 km/h.
The weather will then improve noticeably. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday mornings may be foggy, cool and cloudy, but sunshine will emerge in the afternoon; temperatures will rise to around 16–18°C, reaching 18–19°C on Friday. The weekend promises to be especially pleasant, with more sunshine and highs around 20–21°C. It will be an ideal time for walks among the fall foliage.
