Last Warm Days Before Fall Chill Arrives in Seattle

Summer is making a brief return to Seattle: following the recent overcast weather, the beginning of the week is expected to bring sunny skies, no rain and temperatures around 75–81°F. On Wednesday, temperatures will climb to nearly 81°F, so residents are encouraged to take advantage of one last opportunity for summer activities — swimming in the lake, playing tennis or taking a short hike. However, an atmospheric front will move into the region on Thursday, bringing more clouds and cooler temperatures of around 70°F. Any precipitation will mainly affect the Cascade Mountains, where dry conditions are increasing the risk of wildfires. Light rain is possible in Seattle on Friday and Saturday, totaling about 0.1 inches, while cool, cloudy weather will persist over the weekend, with temperatures around 64–68°F, signaling the approach of fall.
