Journalist and political analyst Vladimir Villegas said on Monday that the near future of Venezuela’s political stability largely depends on decisions by the national executive leadership and personally on Delcy Rodríguez, noting that the country’s next course depends on these actions. In an interview with the Globovisión channel, he called the dialogue that began on August 1 the starting point on the path toward elections and stressed that its success is possible only with the participation of all political forces and with due consideration of each side’s views.
Among the first issues to be discussed, Villegas highlighted the elimination of the consequences of the double earthquake on June 24, unresolved matters within the Peace Commission, the holding of open competitions for appointing new judges, and the need to decisively respond to the weakness of the minimum wage. He urged the parties to resolve political disagreements strictly within the framework of the Constitution and dialogue, reminding them of the importance of democratic debates on these pressing problems.
