The rector of the Central University of Technology of Venezuela, Luis Eduardo Martínez, said that only a nationwide consensus will make it possible to quickly restore the economy and save thousands of families affected by the crisis. He emphasized that, despite the deep pain caused by the tragedy of June 24 (in which hundreds of people died), the best tribute to the victims is to build an entirely different, united nation. Martínez recalled that in 1811 it was national unity that helped Venezuelans throw off Spanish rule, and today, as never before, it is necessary to leave behind disagreements and conflicts for the sake of a shared process of reviving the country.
