Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez plans to discuss energy, sovereign debt and the mining sector with U.S. partners while attending the UN General Assembly in the United States, Reuters reports, citing anonymous sources. The official program also includes high-level meetings on multilateral cooperation, sustainable development and technical cooperation between Venezuela and UN agencies, funds and programs. The sources did not disclose any possible agreements or specify which U.S. representatives would take part in the talks. In addition, confirmation is expected of a meeting between Rodríguez and President Donald Trump after the two countries conclude energy agreements. The agreements provide for the development of 17 strategic fields and a controlling stake for the U.S. side in projects linked to more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves.
