Acting President of Venezuela Delcy Rodríguez held a ceremony to swear in an updated roster of the General Staff, the commanders of the branches of the armed forces, and the heads of the strategic defense regions (REDI). The event aimed to strengthen the operational structure of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and included the official transfer of authority and the presentation of departmental insignia. Rodríguez stressed that the appointments are of a strategic nature: “As Commander-in-Chief, I have appointed these officers, generals, and admirals who will now take the highest positions to ensure the comprehensive defense of the nation.”
In her address, the head of state urged the military leadership to act with a sense of service to the people: “Go with the baton of command in service to the Venezuelan people. You are entrusted with a great and noble task: to defend the interests of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.” The officers sworn in confirmed their commitment to the constitution, military discipline, and their obligation to carry out their duties to protect sovereignty. The ceremony concluded the formation of the new FANB command structure, designed to strengthen combat readiness and improve the country’s territorial defense organization.
