Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez held a diplomatic meeting with Chinese Ambassador Lan Hu ahead of the 77th anniversary of the proclamation of the People’s Republic of China, celebrated on October 1. The talks were also attended by Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia, Venezuela’s ambassador to China, Remigio Ceballos, and Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania Eduardo Ramírez. Rodríguez congratulated China on the historic date marking the founding of the PRC in 1949 at Tiananmen Square under the leadership of Mao Zedong. She also conveyed her congratulations to the Chinese people and the Chinese community in Venezuela on the occasion of the Moon Festival, or Mid-Autumn Festival, which celebrates the harvest, family unity and the preservation of traditions.
