Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez said at the opening of the 82nd annual assembly of the business organization Fedecámaras in Caracas that dollarization would not solve the country’s economic problems. According to her, sustainable growth must be based on strengthening the national currency—the bolívar—which should support trade transactions, financial settlements, and access to credit. Rodríguez emphasized that long-term stability requires banking and lending policies focused on supporting production, while Venezuela, like other countries, can use foreign currency for productive needs. She also said that the government is working to improve the circulation of foreign currency in the market, seeking to balance supply and demand and make currency-exchange operations more efficient.
