Chapter of Venezuela’s Central Bank: the country’s economy has withstood the earthquakes’ blow

Venezuela’s vice president for the economy and president of the Central Bank, Calixto Ortega, said at an economic council that after the earthquakes of June 24, the country’s production sector proved far more resilient than analysts had expected. He said that the oil industry and the entire industrial structure are operating normally, which confirms the economy is moving toward recovery. Ortega also outlined further steps to attract international investment and restructure the country’s public debt in order to strengthen market stability and secure support from partners.
