Jorge Rodríguez, head of the National Assembly elected in 2020, announced the start of a new phase of national dialogue with former parliament members from 2015. The information was shared via his official Telegram channel. The talks’ agenda includes three key areas: assistance to the population following the double earthquake that occurred on June 24, institutional strengthening, including updates to the Supreme Court and the National Electoral Council, and political guarantees for all participants in the country’s political process.
On the government side, the delegation is led by Rodríguez himself, and includes Jorge Arreasa, Ana María San-Juan, América Pérez, Genesis Garbett, and Pedro Infante. The opposition is represented by the Assembly 2015 led by Dinora Figuera, together with its team and a separate support commission. It is important to note that U.S. delegates will monitor the negotiations: they will accompany each stage to ensure the dialogue remains fair, constructive, and leads to concrete outcomes for Venezuela’s stability.
